Long-White-Cloud (Walters Koru) is a bold and vivid abstract landscape design. The iconography embraces polychromy with 5 key colours in 4 fields with a long symmetrical 'white cloud' as silver fimbriation.
The "koru" motifs are a proud reference to renown Kiwi artist Gordon Walters' signature graphics, and the duality to the two islands.
Sea and forest colours of green and blue are the environmental backgrounds for the black and red koru forms – with the upper red being in common between Maori tradition, Chinese and European Colonial Settlement, and base of black.
Symmetry and balance are equally distributed to present an art based individuality consistent with New Zealand's identity. This aims to be impacting, inclusive and easily reproduced technically and by all ages.
