Long-White-Cloud-SC is a fresh abstract design for the NZ Aotearoa national flag identity. The iconography embraces polychromy with 5 key colours in 4 fields with a long symmetrical 'white cloud' as silver fimbriation. This aims to be impacting, inclusive and easily reproduced technically and by all ages.
The colour fields are linked by a dynamic Southern Cross (4 star NZ version made brighter and inclined). Sea and forest colours of green and blue are juxtaposed between the base and head structure of grounding black and arching red – with red being in common between Maori tradition, Chinese and European Colonial Settlement.
Two 'gentle' curves acknowledge the two main islands, and the influences of Austrian artist Hundertwasser. Symmetry and balance are equally distributed to present an art based individuality consistent with New Zealand's identity, and compliment the popular imagery of the All Black Silverfern graphic.
