New Zealand must have like any independent nation a new flag. The white colour symbolizes the peace that reigns over the mountains of New Zealand. The blue colour symbolizes the tradition of multicultural openness to the rest of the world from other side of the ocean. The red colour symbolizes the blood unit between Maori, Pakeha and all other New Zealand citizens. The orange colour symbolizes the harmonious cosmopolitan life in the peace and with the respect for Maori traditions and respect for Pakeha traditions of the people of New Zealand. The fern symbolizes the native people of New Zealand. The fleur-de-lis symbolizes the cosmopolitan people of New Zealand. The cross symbolizes the harmonious intersection between respect for Maori traditions and respect for Pakeha traditions. The stars symbolize the heavenly and universal aspiration for the progress of human life in New Zealand. My design is a modification of the design including the fern designed by Dave Clark. My design is also a modification of the United Tribes design designed by James Busby.
