This is another version of a previous flag design I submitted. The meaning of the flag is unchanged. The background of this flag retains the same blue colouring and Southern Cross stars just as they are now in our present flag. This is done to show respect for all the people who endeavoured to build our nation and for those who fought and sacrificed their lives to preserve the freedom of New Zealand.
The red represents the land and also is a colour that is significant for the Maori people.
The koru has a meaning of new life, strength and peace. It also represents the potential of our country as it has not yet transformed into a silver fern.
The koru travels across the flag representing all the people of New Zealand who are all tied together with the land.
